Handsome Cameron

It's not the groundhog...it's not the equinox...it's not the calendar that tells us when Spring has arrived. We know it's Spring when Chris gets out the clippers and he and Cameron shave their heads. There is always some "fun with Cameron's hair" before the whole cut is done. Sometimes he gets a Mohawk. Sometimes he gets stripes. Tonight he got a little something we like to call "The Dr. Phil!" So Handsome!!!

Spring Break Read-A-Thon

Time for the fine print...

During spring break the Edgemont PTO is sponsoring a Read-A-Thon fundriaser for the kids. Students may get pledges or donations based on minutes read. (Example: If someone pledges 5 cents per minute and a child reads 200 minutes over spring break the student would collect $10.00 or a donation of any amount may be accepted too.) Kids are encouraged to read as much as possible between Friday, March 21st and Sunday, March 30th. Money will need to be collected and turned in by Thursday April 3rd. For every $5.00 turned in the student will receive one "Book Buck" worth $1.00 toward the purchase of books from the book fair. These "Book Bucks" can be redeemed on Monday, April 14th at a special one day book fair in the library. There will be prizes for individual kids and class parties for those who read the most minutes and turn int he most money. Each student will receive a treat for just returning the envelope whether they choose to participate in the Read-A-Thon or not.

If you would like to make a pledge just leave a comment here and Delaney or Cameron will get back to you soon. THANKS!

Hoppy Easter Bunny!

Just a couple pictures of the babies enjoying their Easter baskets. Now, tell me what to do? Should I let them gorge themselves on all the treats, be done with the baskets and move on to having nothing but fruits and vegetables this week? Or should I take charge and dole the goodies out a little at a time each day until it's all gone? I think Cameron has already eaten the ears off his bunny and Delaney has polished off a whole tray of Peeps. Chris and I have been sneaking Cadbury Carmel eggs EQUALLY out of each child's basket. YUM!

Happy Easter

The next time Easter will be this early will be 2228! The last time it was this early was 1913. Maybe that's why it really snuck up on us this year - We had plans to make a ham, scalloped potatoes, and lemon meringue pie. We settled for the steaks that were already thawed out in the fridge, augraten potates (from scratch) and a coconut cake.

I would say, in general, we had a lovely day - but there were several holiday mishaps that we will be laughing about for many Easters to come.

No news...is boring

I LOVE Sunday mornings! This one is particularly nice right now. Delaney had a sleepover at Mamie's house. Cameron slept in the big bed with me. Chris is on the road but will be home later today. Right now I have a big cup of coffee with some new "White Chocolate Mudslide" creamer (yum).

It's snowing again. I'm trying not to complain about the weather. It's March, it SHOULD be snowy, but I can feel myself getting anxious for Spring. Thankfully, we can take the kids and head over to Apple Athletic Club for some indoor swimming. It really helps to take the "edge off" the winter blues.

But no one is blue this morning. I bet Delaney and Mamie are still sleeping. Cameron is eating chocolate cake for breakfast (thank you Bill Cosby) and watching cartoons. And I am still here in bed, listening to Car Talk and enjoying the aforementioned coffee.
The picture is from "The Worst Birthday Dinner EVER!" at Outback Steakhouse Thursday night. Chris wanted to have steak to celebrate his birthday. Outback seemed like a good choice. WRONG - the got the order wrong, the service was slow and bad, I never got part of my dinner, what we did get was not tasty, and the bill was RIDICULOUS! Frustrating.Other than that, I think he had a nice birthday. I gave him a Sage fly rod and the kids really came through. They picked out a new toaster, a nice wallet, and something called Mighty Putty! It's one of those "as seen on tv" things. It's epoxy...but creatively packaged, and Chris and the kids are excited to start fixing things.
I'm heading to my little basement studio now to do my Michigan voicetracks. It's not hard work, but I dread doing it on the weekends. I need to do it now, in the morning, when I'm fresh and ready to be creative. Can you tell I'm still trying to talk myself into this? LOL
I wanted to tell you we now have a new station website. http://www.klce.com/ and all the on air people are blogging there too. I'm pretty much responsible for all the blogs. Wayne hates doing his so I post most of his stuff. I try to get something new on almost every day. And I'm also keeping the Quality Family Time blog and posting fun craft ideas and recipes. I just thought you might like to check that site out too.

Basketball Delaney

I told Delaney today "You're the STAR of our Blog. Without you...there is nothing to blog about!" Cameron better grow up and start doing stuff or this thing is going to get boring fast! LOL

These pictures are from the last basketball game of the season. She scored two baskets and played some SERIOUS defense! Chris is going to coach the team next year with Mamie's Dad. FUN!!!

Dancing Delaney

I think this is officially the last time you will see "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby." Delaney is excited to be moving on in dance to something new. Her team is working on some cool Disco Dancing now. She's excited because the boys have to wear big giant afro wigs. LOL

Basketball videos coming up next...
